Step 1: Enable Remote-Destop on Windows Vista or Windows 7
Remote Desktop is only included in the Professional, Business, or Ultimate versions of Windows. Home editions do not have Remote Desktop.

To open the configuration page, right-click the Computer icon and choose properties.



Now click the Remote Settings link on the left hand side:



Click the 'Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop' radio button.

Step 2: Install Remote-Office
  1. Open a web browser at http://ra.net.nz/ro
  2. Enter Account Number and Download Password and click Download.
  3. Choose 'Run' or 'Open' (Depends on browser version).
  4. If you receive any security warnings agree and choose 'Run'.
  5. Accept/allow any personal firewall software warnings that appear.



  6. Restart PC
  7. You can now Remotely Control this PC from any Windows PC.
Suggestions
  1. Use a strong/complex windows logon password
  2. Ensure PC does not hibernate or go to sleep
  3. Disable any graphical screen savers
Whats My Windows User Account Name?
To log onto your PC from a remote PC you will need to know what your User Account Name is.

To find your User Account Name Click on the Start Menu, type "user account" in the 'Search programs and files' box, and press Enter.

Windows 7 will open the Control Panel, with your current User Account Name automatically selected, and your profile type (administrator, standard user or guest account).
Create a Windows User Account Password
To log onto your PC from a remote PC you will need to set a Windows User Account Password.

To create a Windows User Account Password click on the Start Menu, type "user accounts" in the 'Search programs and files' box, and press Enter.

Windows 7 will open the Control Panel, with the 'Make changes to your account' displayed.

Click on the 'Create a password' link.

Type in a password.

Type in the same password again to Confirm the password.

Click on the Create Password button.

Your User Account is now Password protected.
